Presently based in Dallas, Texas, Hartigan attended Boston College, studied in London, and received her BFA from Hartford Art School, University of Hartford. An abstract expressionist artist and sculptor, Deborah's works address her relationship with the natural world-physically, visually and spiritually. Collected in the US and abroad, her work is primarily commissioned by collectors, interior designers and corporate clients.
“We are touched by what we see every day: Birds, grass, trees, lakes, oceans, stones. Water on our hands and bodies. Sunlight warming our skin. Darkness making us seek light. My goal is to express the emotions of wonder and admiration of these natural elements, events and occurrences—to have the viewer experience a different way of seeing.”
In 2021, Deborah opened DHV Artworks, a 5,000-square-foot gallery in the Dallas Design District. Known by most as an artist herself, Deborah now represents select artists in her gallery. Notable corporate clients include American Airlines, Stanley Korshak, Thanksgiving Foundation and Turtle Creek Association. Hartigan also works with many organizations in their charitable advocacy, outreach and educational endeavors.
