COMMISSIONED ARTWORK
Deborah enjoys working with clients to bring forth the vision they have for their home or office. Commissions require special attention and artistic skill, both to the client's needs as well as in the creation of a beautiful work of art. Thankfully, Deborah is well-versed at creating custom work for individual clients, or in collaboration with residential and commercial interior designers. Deborah is excited by every opportunity to work with a client to create a bespoke visual work of art. Commissions make up the majority of her work. THE VISION
This initial session is all about collaboration. Clients visit DHV Artworks to meet with Deborah about what they like—and what they don’t. This learning session helps the Client understand and realize the range of options a commission may afford. At the same time, it gives the Artist a better vision of what the Client is wanting to achieve.
SITE VISIT
Deborah learns about clients’ style and color preferences, lifestyle (short- and long-term) and current collection (the significance of pieces they already own).
VISUAL PRESENTATION
Includes: Concept, technique to be used, size of the artwork, subject matter, any reference images, style, palette/colors and any text.
CREATIVE PROCESS
Upon approval of specs and timeline—including requested finish date and interim consults—Deborah will create the work. Progress meetings will be held as scheduled.
FINAL ART
Once artwork is complete, we’ll arrange for shipping and/or installation.Custom Installation
AMERICAN AIRLINES FLAGSHIP LOUNGE
In 2019, American Airlines (AA) commissioned Deborah to create over 25 original artworks for their 22,000-square-foot Flagship Lounge located in Terminal D at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The project also entailed repurposing several artworks the airlines owned and had previously retired.
As a follow-up to that successful installation, in 2020 Deborah was hired as Art Curator/Consultant for the new AA Flagship Lounge in Philadelphia, currently under construction. Her vision is to create an inviting space highlighting the works of local artists.
